A major US oil company needed to capture the
knowledge and experience gained by their gasoline blending
technical team over the past 40 years. Capturing and transferring
this legacy knowledge to unit operators, who often lack the
comprehensive knowledge of the blending process, would
be
essential to maintaining not only the unit's high efficiency,
but also the quality of
the blend. |

RDC worked with the team to identify and
capture their knowledge and developed web-based
learning modules for inclusion in an KnowledgeWeb database.
Utilizing the integrated learning capabilities of
KnowledgeWeb allowed each learning module to be customized for each refinery's unique site- and
job-specific blending and operating requirements.
KnowledgeWeb's differential learning
center allowed operators to be
evaluated on their overall knowledge of the gas blending
process and have a personalized learning path created for
them to maximize their proficiency. |
